ELAS e o Jazz are a masterful trio of singers who share their love for the American songbook through original three-part vocal harmonies. 

Joana Machado, Marta Hugon and Mariana Norton breathe life into the timeless repertoire of the Broadway musical and the New York jazz scene, featuring composers such as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers and Jerome Kern.

They met as students in Lisbon’s most renowned Jazz School – Hot Clube – before roaming to the city of New York, to pursue their studies and their love for the city and its iconic jazz clubs.

Back in Portugal, each thrieved in their own musical career and kept crossing paths in collaborations with fellow artists and music festivals. 

Until one day, they decided to join forces to honor their love for jazz and its standards, deciding to form a trio to sing new arrangements of their favorite songs. 

Joana Machado’s incredible sensibility and arranging skills empowered the songs with beatiful harmonies, enhancing each singer’s vocal traits.

And thus started a beatiful colaboration.

Soon after the release of their firts musical video, they we’re invited to perform in the biggest jazz festivals in Portugal and shared the stage with renowned artists such as Gregory Porter, Carminho, Maro, Carmen Souza while performing in private luxury events for portuguese and international brands.

ELAS e o Jazz are a dinamic, lively and fun trio, accompanied by exceptional musicians – piano, bass and drums- delivering an homage to the classics as a musical narrative developed by their three distinct voices, sharing with their audience a glamorous approach to the songs, recreating New York city’s jazz clubs and old Broadway’s vibe in a charming and irresistible way.
